Not sure why but it's truncating my post so maybe this link will work. It's old Rivals articles that are now free:

Crist is going to LSU this weekend, and the latest we heard he is still planning on accompanying Anthony McDonald to ND on April 11. He is talking like he is pretty close to making a choice between LSU & ND, and has said that he will make his decision before the start of his senior year. Crist is concerned about playing time, and that would give LSU the edge here. It appears that the best chance for the Irish in successfully recruiting Crist is if he does not take a liking to the Bayou this weekend. If he does not show up with McDonald in South Bend on April 11, he seems likely to commit to LSU.

With Flynn and Perriloux ahead of him on the depth chart if he goes to LSU?

I'm not saying it's a worse situation than ND's, but it's not the best of situations if he wants playing time either.

I agree to a certain extent but Flynn and Perriloux at least potentially are not Jimmy Clausen, and then there is Jones and Frazer to contend with as well.

BTW, there are a lot of people who feel that Crist is more of an ND lean because they believe his top priority will be the education factor, and that combined with his close friendship with McDonald should McDonald commit to ND, would be sufficient to overcome any concerns about playing time at ND. The telling sign will be whether he shows up at South Bend in April, if he does you would have to agree with the ND lean theory.
