Anyone know where we stand with this guy? Last edited by Jason Pham; 06-01-2007 at 09:13 PM. |

He mentioned loving the tandem of athletics and academics in a free access scout article, and it seems to be holding serve with this kid. The 'Noles will be a player for him (childhood favorite), but his career plans fall right in line with ND's academic strength - business. Its a gut feeling for me, but I think he's ND's next (and last) OL get - though not any time soon. I think people should start to re-route their attention to Page, because the guy definitely has talent, and we've got an excellent shot to get him. I hope he's not overlooked because he projects as a guard. 30+ offers, virtually all the SEC/ACC schools, not to mention Michigan offering... the guy is nothing to scoff at. We would not be "settling" if we got this guy, whatsoever. Kenneth Page, per rivals Last edited by GoldenDomer3; 06-01-2007 at 09:18 PM. |

| Waterboy | There is also an article on Rivals by the Boston College site. Lots of quotes from the coach saying Page cares about education 1st, and football 2nd. He said that Page won't be going to a "football factory" (his words not mine), and B.C. has a real shot. ....the article was all about B.C. so ND was never mentioned but if academics are so important you have to think ND has a chance......I'll actually be very surprised if he goes to a SEC school based on his coaches comments. |

The video I've seen of Page had some conviction about his academic plans, sounded a lot like Brandon Newman, who was clear and consistent about what he wanted. The rest of his speech, about whittling down his other schools, sounded a little more rehearsed, so it stands out if you look at one of the rivals videos. I guess, its the difference between a kid who wants to graduate, and the kid that wants to graduate with a degree in business, or broadcasting, or zoology, etc. Page has a plan - wants to major in finance or business (a feather in ND's cap) - and given the volume of comments about academics, this doesn't sound like some recruits who add it as a token response, or that academics would be an afterthought to them. I understand reservations, because more times than not its not a big factor, but when he throws us into his top 5 immediately, then follows it up with two or three interviews re-emphasizing the importance of academics in his decision, I tend to believe him. |
