Man... Fasano, now Carlson, Reuland in last year's class, Ragone in this year's class, and Rudolph as a potential '08. While we may be hoping for ND to become Every Position U, the framework for a long line of very good, well rounded NFL TEs is already in place. To an extent, there's a framework being built for WRs and fullbacks (See replacing Stovall with McKnight, RPN with Schwapp with Ashley McConnell), but the lineage is already there with TEs. Now, we probably won't be competing for the Vernon Davis/Antonio Gates type TE/WR hybrid because blocking is a major point of emphasis in Weis's offense, but I can definitely see this string of TEs starting in the NFL in a couple years.

Mr. Rudolph reminds me of a larger Maurice Stovall. He has the talent to compete with our already elite contingent of tight Ends. I hope he is a domer.

By the way, John Carlson was rated high last year by some teams in the NFL. This year we are seeing why. If John did come back next year, he would be the featured receiver on the offense. But, I think teams in the NFL are going to make a huge push to get him out of ND. John, I hope you stay and mentor these young turks the way Anthony mentored you.

Given that Charlie Weis actually is one of the few coaches that promotes dual-athletes, and given the fact that our basketball team kind of sucks, is there anyway he could do both at ND, I know the seasons overlap, but if he as good at basketball as he is at football, is that a possibility?

And I'm sure Brey's squad could use all the help it could get!

Basketball has always been his greatest love. OSU, Wake Forest, and BC have all told him he could play basketball too if he came there on a football scholarship. I don't think that topic came up when he was talking to weis, but i'm not even sure if its as big of a deal to him after this past football season since he now realizes his best chance of getting the furthest will be in football.
