Holtz told him that we didn't have any space left in the class for him, and that he had to go elsewhere. As for Weis not making that mistake...It wasn't really a mistake on anyone's part except for Kearse. ex.) Let's say half a dozen more guys commit and we now have no room left for any players. Well, come signing day, five star recruit Joe Shmoe decides he wants to play for the Irish. Weis can't tell a guy already committed that he has to find a new schoo to make room for Joe. (Well, he technically could, but he wouldn't.) He would wish Joe the best and tell him to find a different school. |

We'd all love to find the balancing point, but if you gotta pick one or the other, I'll take a class that fills up too quickly over one that doesn't materialize at all. Maybe a bit of an apples to oranges comparison, but there might be some link between the philosophies behind it. |
