How many safeties will we take? Is Jamoris Slaughter our preference? I think we can only afford to take 1 safety and leave one out there in case Will Hill wants to be Irish. Leaving one for Will would force something like not giving a 5th year or a transfer, should he decide to come. I think whoever commits first between Slaughter and McCarthy is it. What say you?

Both Slaughter & Blanton are being recruited as CB's. McCarthy is the only current offer that ND has a shot at who is being recruited as a Safety.

OK then. I like Slaughter too much to only take Blanton. I would rather have McCarthy, Blanton and Slaughter than take another NT, even if it were Forston. We have Newman and Hunter at NT, Cwynar and Williams at DT, lets take a DT/DE like Johnson, Aghayere, Lewis-Moore.
CB - Blanton + Slaughter
S - McCarthy (Hill)
ILB - Filer (Brown)
DE/DT - 1 of (Johnson, Aghayere, Lewis-Moore)

TB - Thomas
WR - Floyd + Butler (top 2 choices)
OL - 1 of (Patchan, Page, Forst)

That is 9 to 11 spots putting us at 23 to 25. If it means a 5th year is not offered or more than Frazer transfer, OK. Is there any truth to the rumor that Mike Golic Sr would pay his son's way to save a schollie?

McCarthy is now listing OSU, Stanford, scUM, PSU and ND as his current favorites with BC as a possibility depending upon how a planned summer visit goes. The favorites are not listed in order but the general opinion seems to be that it is between the Irish, Stanford, and OSU, with BC a potential player. McCarthy is planning on going to camps at OSU and scUM in the next two weeks, and finish off the month at ND's second 4 day camp starting on June 23.
