'08 OH S Dan McCarthy (Signed LOI to ND)

It sounds like it is a smaller issue than its made out to be, or like it sounds when you first hear it, so keep that in mind. From what I've read, it doesn't sound like a deciding factor for Dan.

I remember reading things like that earlier in his recruitment, and in more recent months I've heard next to nothing about it being an issue, particularly since he's talked with the coaching staff more. My guess is Weis & Co. addressed that issue, but it is just a guess.

I've heard some mixed things about his interests. I know Buckeye fans that are convinced he's ND bound, and I've heard Domer fans that feel he's OSU's to lose. It would be funny if he picked a school like LSU, and fooled most everyone.

Buckeye fans always think he's theirs and anybody else they usually offer. I think it's pretty funny considering all the things we have in our corner over OSU for McCarthy yet they think they still lead. The moment they offered Kyle they thought he was theirs and then we offered him at the last second and he commited to ND. I could see Dan doing something unconventional like going to Stanford or something.

It requires you to be open minded to the possibility that your view of buckeye fans could be incorrect. So they are always going to be invisible.

You seem to be someone who lets emotions overly influence your opinions. Whether it be Ohio State (topic), Urban Meyer (you said he is a bad evaluator of talent) or a recruit that ND offered, but doesn't verbal there (Sweat thread). I am sure I can find other posts as well.

You said you see OSU boards say McCarthy favors OSU. Which ones? Scout? They are a bunch of people who have no other place to voice an opinion (ND's scout board is way worse btw, and there is nothing called free speech there. I posted something, don't remember what, last year, and the moderators PM'd me saying "We aren't interested in outside opinion". There are more deleted posts than there are readable posts). Besides, most fan bases think wishes were horses, and will think any recruit they've offered will come to play for them. The only objective buckeye board I know of is BP. Here is BP's McCarthy's thread. Look at one of the last few posts.

"Danny McCarthy" from "Cardinal Mooney" to tOSU? I'll believe it when I see the Four Horsemen riding down from the clouds.

The board is pretty divided on where he'll end up. This is where I got info about Sweat's decision, and believe it or not, though I didn't post on Zordich's thread at that time, most people in there were saying he going to PSU. And just to clarify, I myself think McCarthy is a 70% ND lean.
