The stong recruting weekend continues for the Irish.

Notre Dame picked up their 21st verbal in the 2008 class when 4 RB Jonas Gray from Beverly Hills, MI decided to decommit from Nebraska and join the great Irish class late last night. Jonas had originally given a verbal to the Huskers but the impending coching changes caused him to rethink his commitment. It was then that he took an official visit to the school where he always wanted to be in the first place but had orginally blown his chance at an official offer by not comming to a summer camp that he was scheduled for. Jonas visited Notre Dame this past weekend to watch them play the Trojans and even though the game was a disappointment on the field that didn't bother Jonas, as the visit exceeded his already high expectations. Once agian much of the credit here goes to ND defensive cord. Cowin Brown. He has kept in contact with Jonas throughout the whole process and according to Jonas he has become somewhat of a father figure to him. Jonas was orginally scheduled to take a visit to Michigan this weekend and he was scheduled to talk with new Nebraska AD Tom Osbourne later this week, but like Brian Smith last year, when you know I guess you just know. Besides Nebraska and Michigan, Notre Dame also beat out teams like LSU, Michigan State, and Illinois for Jonas's services.

Outlined against a blue-gray October sky, the Four Horsemen rode again. In dramatic lore they are known as Famine, Pestilence, Destruction and Death. These are only aliases. Their real names are Stuhldreher, Miller, Crowley and Layden. They formed the crest of the South Bend cyclone before which another fighting Army football team was swept over the precipice at the Polo Grounds yesterday afternoon as 55,000 spectators peered down on the bewildering panorama spread on the green plain below. - Grantland Rice 1924

Brown, ND's first-year defensive coordinator, played at Michigan."(Brown) said if he would have gotten offered by Notre Dame," Slaughter said, "he would have gone to Notre Dame."
